Would you send your children into any hostile environment like the moon, a battlefield, or the bottom of the ocean without proper protection? To send them to the bottom of the ocean without properly working equipment like a submarine or scuba gear would be murder. The same would be true about sending them into battle or to the moon without training and protection.
