Space has commonly been pictured as an unbounded receptacle for all that is and all that takes place, and time, as the tally sheet of the onsweep of an active world. Free room for the great deployments of the cosmos have been thought to be offered by unlimited space and ample duration for their evolutions in unrestricted time.
