I'm drawn to bass players, and I haven't really figured out why. They tend to be more in the background and kind of holding the beat. Sometimes lead-guitar players can be frustrated singer-songwriters. They really want to be in the spotlight. But bass players, they've got that rhythmic thing. That beat, you know? There's something about that rhythm section.
