He [Benjamin Disraeli] is a self-made man and worships his creator.

Attributed to John Bright in: Reader's Digest Book of Facts (1995), p. 80. Also in: The New York Times Book Review, Volume 74: "As John Bright once said of Disraeli, 'He is a self-made man who worships his creator.'" A similar quote is also attributed to the humorist Henry Clapp in The National Cyclopaedia of American Biography (J.T. White, 1907), p. 121: "World, H. G. is a self-made man, and worships his creator."
